HD drag links & adjustable panhard rods

We make heavy duty steering rods, panhard rods, drag links, idler arms, control radius arms and more. Our HD rods are produced in a 29,000 sq ft facility equipped with special CNC machines for high precision.

Steering rods

Raw material

We use only special alloy steel developed by our R&D team and made to our specification at the mill. Every batch arrives with a material certificate, which we retain for each batch we manufacture.

Processing

Raw material is cut to length on CNC bandsaw machines and pressed on special machines to toughen the grain structure from the inside, adding strength to the steering bars.

Machining

Every steering rod is machined on a dedicated CNC machine that delivers accurate size and threads every time, leaving no scope for loose or non-standard threads.

In-process checks

Every rod is checked with ISO gauges for threads, snap gauges for size and a dedicated machine for thread depth before moving to the next stage.

OD grinding

We offer outside-diameter grinding on our heavy duty steering rods for fit and finish.

Tie rod ends

Our tie rod ends are manufactured from the same special alloy steel developed for the strength required in performance parts.

Machining

An in-house range of 26 CNC machines lets us hold accuracy over long production runs, and we add new machines continuously to keep pace with current technology.

Cold forging pins

Our in-house cold forging presses run from 20 tons to 250 tons, giving us strict quality control and precision over pin production.

Orbital clamping

Used for forming and closing tie rod ends and ball joints. The machine forms the closing lip to a high precision, which gives the best possible movement of the ball inside the tie rod housing.

Laser marking

Every tie rod end is laser marked for warranty and traceability.

Packaging

Steering rods are supplied in individual boxes, then palletised and shipped to your requirement.
